Candidate Profile

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school required.




• Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing.




• 5+ years of substantive experience in national title insurance underwriting or comparable commercial real estate experience in a law firm setting.




• General understanding of the process of title underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies(link removed)>
  
• Ability to interpret and apply title insurance underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits




• Solid understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance, and settlement processes(link removed)>
  
• Must be familiar with applicable commercial real estate law, including federal and state regulations.




• Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and externally, with clients and others.




• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage significant transaction volume, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.




• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.




• Effective communicator with strong negotiation skills, who can deliver guidance with clarity, professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.




• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, with the ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions.




• Collaborative mindset with ability to act decisively when needed.

What Youll Do

• Provide title underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers, related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies(link removed)>

  Apply underwriting standards to assess risk and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  Provide guidance to internal teams on commercial real estate settlement services and transaction structure.

• Salary range: $200,000 $300,000+ This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, qualifications, and geographic location.
