Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a busy legal team in our Albuquerque office. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, can manage shifting priorities, and is comfortable supporting multiple attorneys. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Because this is a small office, responsibilities will include both paralegal and administrative tasks. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting the growth of the litigation practice are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, format, and prepare pleadings, discovery responses, and legal correspondence.
Maintain expert knowledge of court rules and filing requirements for relevant jurisdictions.
Docket and track all case deadlines to ensure timely filings.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, meetings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial activities.
Assist attorneys with deposition prep, discovery management, and document review.
Support preparation for client meetings, document productions, hearings, and trials.
Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure accuracy within the case management system.
Provide general administrative support, including handling routine correspondence.
Qualifications
Preferably 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm, including trial prep, case management, calendaring, and supporting complex litigation matters.
Prior experience attending trials and assisting with trial logistics.
Strong understanding of e-discovery tools, including Relativity and advanced review technologies.
Ability to handle multiple deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
