2. Review 2,000+ funding applications for the Neo startup accelerator program and conduct team/market/product-focused diligence interviews.
3. Perform specific and distinctive research and analysis of new technologies and trends in enterprise software and build dynamic operating models and scenario analyses in Excel for enterprise SaaS clients.
4. Evaluate investment opportunities by conducting due diligence processes including sourcing, financial modeling, and investment memo drafting to assess the economic value and predict the future performance of these products and technologies through understanding the technical capabilities of the product and how that relates to the current industry trends and developments.
5. Develop a specific investment thesis based on a thorough understanding of recent trends in the regulatory and competitive industry landscape by conducting in-depth market mapping to identify strategic buyers, financial sponsors, and potential acquisition targets.
6. Provide research-driven perspectives in investment committee meetings to help shape the firms investment decisions.
7. Support portfolio companies post-investment on strategic hiring, follow-on fundraising, competitive positioning, customer / advisor introductions, and financial planning, and offer mentorship on business strategy, go-to-market approaches, and operational improvements to strengthen market position.
8. Draft fundraising presentation using PowerPoint for prospective limited partners through analyzing, forecasting, and visualizing portfolio performance and analyzing fundraising traction, cap table structures, and KPIs using tools including Pitchbook, CapitalIQ, and public-private filings, as well as NRR, CAC payback, and LTV/CAC required to effectively guide portfolio companies through strategic decisions.
9. Source and evaluate early-stage startups using frameworks including founder-market-fit, and GTM (go-to-market) efficiency, and advise on risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and diversification to protect and optimize the firms investment opportunities.
May Telecommute.
Requires 20% travel nationally to various cities in the U.S. to meet with startup founders to evaluate investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, and attend business meetings to support portfolio companies’ post-investment.
40 hours per week; M-F.
The position requires three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must include:
a) Building dynamic operating models and scenario analyses in Excel for enterprise SaaS clients.
b) Incorporating KPIs including NRR, CAC payback, and LTV/CAC to guide strategic decisions.
c) Designing investor presentation materials using PowerPoint, tailoring narratives to align with investor expectations.
d) Conducting in-depth market mapping to identify strategic buyers, financial sponsors, and potential acquisition targets.
e) Leading end-to-end investment process across early-stage technology investment opportunities, including sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, and investment memo drafting.
f) Maintaining portfolio construction model and fund performance tracker using Excel.
g) Developing investment thesis.
h) Providing research-driven perspectives including qualitative and quantitative research, in investment committee meetings to help shape investment decisions.
i) Supporting portfolio companies post-investment on strategic hiring, follow-on fundraising, competitive positioning, customer/advisor introductions, and financial planning.
j) Sourcing and evaluating early-stage startups using frameworks including founder-market-fit, and GTM (go-to-market) efficiency.
k) Using Excel, PowerPoint, and Pitchbook to build detailed operating models, valuation analyses including discounted cash flow, public comparables, precedent transactions, and strategic materials including teasers, and board presentations for potential sell-side and buy-side process.
l) Analyzing fundraising traction, cap table structures, and KPIs using tools including Pitchbook, CapitalIQ, and public/private filings.
Bachelors degree or foreign educational equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a closely related quantitative field.
