As a Cable Technician with our company, you will work independently throughout the day while staying in communication with our field supervisors. We are looking for people who take their work seriously, treat customers and their property with respect, and can complete assignments safely and efficiently.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Install and service residential coaxial cable connections.
Run cable from the existing network connection to the customer’s home.
Install, connect, and activate modems and related customer equipment.
Complete new installations, service calls, repairs, and maintenance assignments.
Test signal levels and verify that services are operating correctly.
Diagnose connectivity, signal, and equipment-related problems.
Replace damaged cable, connectors, or other components when necessary.
Use ladders, hand tools, testing equipment, and mobile devices during daily assignments.
Complete work orders and accurately record production, materials, and job information.
Protect customer property and existing utility infrastructure while performing work.
Keep our supervisors informed about completed jobs, delays, access problems, or technical issues.
Follow Signal Cable procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable field safety standards.
Provide professional and respectful customer service at every location.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Previous experience in cable, broadband, telecommunications, residential installation, or field service is preferred. Candidates with strong hands-on or technical experience may also be considered.
You should be comfortable troubleshooting service problems, using common field tools, working from ladders, and managing your daily assignments with limited supervision.
Good communication and customer-service skills are important because you will represent Signal Cable directly inside and around customers’ homes.
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
FIELD REQUIREMENTS
Our technicians travel between customer locations throughout the Seattle area and must have access to a truck, van, or SUV suitable for carrying ladders, tools, and field equipment.
You must be comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions and performing physical activities such as climbing ladders, carrying equipment, bending, kneeling, and accessing cable connection points.
Technicians are expected to maintain the required tool set and meet applicable background-screening and drug-testing requirements.
WORKING WITH SIGNAL CABLE
This is a full-time W-2 field position serving residential customers throughout the Seattle, Washington area.
