*Respiratory Coordinator Position*
The Respiratory Coordinator will serve as a leader by developing, facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs that support the mission, vision and values of the organization.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE*
Provides direction to the staff by developing, coordinating and evaluating education programs to promote staff education.
Leads and maintains compliance with various regulatory agencies and organizational policies and procedures governing the operation of the area of responsibility.
Creates and maintains all employee competency files including but not limited to: Licensure, certifications, and initial/annual competencies.
Performs regular rounds in areas of operation in order to evaluate overall performance of the staff.
Leads to strengthen relationships among service areas and other hospital departments while fostering intra-and inter-department problem solving.
Serves as a content expert in Respiratory Therapy.
Develops policies and procedures appropriate for the operations of the respiratory care department.
Initiates and actively participates in departmental quality improvement.
Participates in education and performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal departmental qualifications and standards of performance.

Advanced understanding of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment and medications.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Must have proficient critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly both orally and in writing.
Ability to follow established safety, infection control, and isolation procedures at all times.
Ability to effectively use a variety of teaching methods.
General computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email.

– EDUCATION – Associate’s or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
– EXPERIENCE – Less than 1 Year of Experience
– CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION –
Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitate (CPR): BLS or CPR Required.
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Respiratory Therapi (RRT): Must have both Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or must be a Registered Nurse.
