IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION) Full Time

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have experience with a broad range of IT principles, methods, advancements, policies, systems concepts and analysis, design, development, testing and applications to include hardware and software. Must have experience and skill in supporting the parent organization’s and subordinate organizations’ network architecture, topology and protocols; ability to study existing architecture of installation systems and test possible enhancements. Must have knowledge of, and skill to install and maintain software and hardware, control current versions and future releases of application software, and document the physical configuration of the organization’s information systems and command and control (C2) systems. Must be have the ability to review and coordinate contractor-related requests and to serve as a consultant on IT projects. Must have the ability to provide expert technical advice, guidance and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT and C2 issues.
