This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard. Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which provided you with familiarization of engineering instruments, testing procedures and techniques; and ability to read and understand simple specifications, instructions, and procedures and to use high school level mathematics. GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 24 months of specialized experience in conducting tests on equipment, components and parts under a variety of conditions (temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, sand, etc.); analyzing drawings and specifications for projects to determine whether the design and drawings are complete and correct; preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for new construction or major modifications; gathering and consolidating technical information for reports; and coordinating and negotiating with contractors and other personnel regarding engineering and administrative matters.
