Data Analytics DevOps Engineer

Salary: $120k-$130k + Bonus

Location: Chicago, IL/Dallas, TX

Hybrid Role (2 days in-office, 3 days remote)

A prestigious financial company is seeking a Data Analytics DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for crafting and building cloud-based applications and data systems that will serve as the backbone for the enterprise data management and analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development
• Hands-on experience working in DevOps culture focusing on automation and process improvement
• Ability to handle Back End development tasks, building scalable distributed data solutions
• 5+ years of programming experience using Python or Java with strong hands-on experience writing automated tests
• 3+ years of hands experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, tools, and technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker, Ansible, Terraform
• 3+ years of experience delivering technology in a DevOps and Cloud Engineering environment
• Scripting experiences with Shell, python, ruby, or similar languages
• Experience working with Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP, AWS preferred) in multi-availability zone, multi-region deployments
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools and technologies such as Rancher and EKS
• Good understanding of data integrations patterns, technologies, and tools
• Familiarity with Big Data processing technologies and frameworks such as Presto, Hadoop, Spark, Flink and with different types of data formats and structures such as like JSON, Protobuf, Avro is desirable
• Experience with distributed message brokers such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or Amazon Kinesis is desirable
• Experience with Hygieia DevOps dashboard and integration with DevOps tools is a plus

Responsibilities

• You will join the core team responsible for the design, development, and implementation
• You will work closely with internal and external business and technology partners
• Define system architecture, technology stack and its tactical implementation
• You will help us take on unique technical challenges associated with handling large datasets and managing streaming data in public cloud and hybrid environments, build large and complex data pipelines, integrate data coming from diverse sources in different formats, implement continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, automate everything we can get our hands on, and be part of the API-first design principal implementation
